Lace tablecloth

Lace tablecloths are very important when the decoration of your dinning room and center tables are concerned, others go to the extent of using them on their television sets and fridges. For families who value their dinner times, it will be very special to use lace tablecloths during those special dinners. The laces that are used to make these tablecloths come in diverse colors like pink, black, red, white, etc. and designs to suit any interior decoration. Making lace table cloths are very easy and affordable surprisingly, they don’t take time to make. All you need is a measuring tape, lace textile, sewing machine, lace trim, iron, ironing board, thread, straight pins and a pair of scissors. These things should be very easy to get if only you are interested in making your own lace table cloths.

Depending on the object you want to use the lace tablecloth on, you’ll have to take measurements. Let’s say you want to make it for your center table; you will have to take the length and width of the table and remember to include 10 extra inches to both sizes. After that, you have to cut out your lace textile to the precise sizes to ensure that quality work is done at the end of the day. Remember, a wrong size of even an inch, can ruin everything. Depending on the form of your center table, cut the ends of the lace trim on a 45 degree slant but this doesn’t apply to round center tables; you must leave it straight under this condition.

Using your straight pins, fasten the trim to the rare border of the lace textile with the precise sides opposite each other. In order to stitch the ends of the trim as one, it is advisable to leave ¼ inches at the start. It is very important to fasten it although, it can be sewn without pinning; this is to help it stay put. Use a straight stitch all in the order of the lace textile when sewing on the trim and later, stitch the end of the trim as one.

Iron the joint of the cloth by ironing it upside down. Folding the spare portion of lace textile towards the lace textile and the spare lace trim towards the lace trim, the bulk at the back of your joint is detached and your lace tablecloth is done.
